Barbara has attended numerous denominations and fellowships over the years as she moved around the Pacific Northwest and Rocky Mountains. It has given her a unique understanding that love for Christ exists in many places, and there is something to be learned in every church home. Barb has been writing in some capacity since she was very small. An advocate for journaling, a developer of the writing process, blogger, and metaphorist, she is experienced with corporate communications, newsletters, fiction, non-fiction, and letters to God. She and her husband live in Tennessee with Holly the dog and Scarlett the cat. She writes for Write Your Mind Journals, Enriched by Words, Living with Autoimmunity, and Vast Chaos.

Dorothy Glasgow

Dorothy has been active in Bible study and music ministry for many years. She lives not far from the Rocky Mountains where she grew up, enjoying God’s panoramic landscape. Dorothy and her husband are retired and enjoy opportunities to travel, visit their children, grandchildren, and friends all over the western and central United States, often taking their dogs, Bandit, and Tokla, with them. She is wife, mother, grandmother, friend, sister, and beloved daughter of the King.

Sal Vilardo

Sal currently lives in South Carolina with his wife, Jessica, and three children, Isabella, Isaia and Ian Matthew. He serves in the marriage ministry at his church and has a passion for pulling out the Amos 3:3 in couples. Sal typically writes in the face to faith category, but don’t worry if you see him wandering aimlessly through the rest of the site, as he likes to take full advantage of the wisdom contained in the talented group here at Rising Upward.

Jamie Simmerman

Jamie is a freelance writer, mother of two boys, student, homeschool teacher, wife, and Christian. Her work as a Registered Nurse for eleven years provided many examples of the best and worst of humanity, and she now volunteers as a lay counselor and mentor as she pursues her degree as a Christian counselor. Jamie handles many of the behind-the-scene functions at Rising Upward, and can also be found posting from time to time.
